<p>The path to spiritual awakening really does not have to be complicated.  You simply, with an open mind find the practices that you experience a greater awakening into bliss and you practice them.</p>
<p>You should try everything; from yoga breathing exercises, to mantra, to chanting to various methods of meditation and everything in between.  It can be as easy as listening the the <a href="http://www.bliss-music.com/meditation_music.htm">Infinite Sky Spritual Awakening CD</a> and feeling the shaktipat/bliss that the music emits.  And when you find practices that help awaken the divine bliss that is beyond all beliefs and ideas then you follow those practices.  You give yourself whole heartedly to them.</p>

<p>Whether you find it in repeating the name of a Guru, repeating a mantra, breathing a certain way, practicing a certain meditation technique, no matter what it is if it awakens the bliss then all the teachings will not matter.  All of the different philosophies and spiritual debates will become obsolete.   The bliss itself leads you to spiritual awakening.</p>
<p>When you let yourself fall into that bliss, then all of your problems and worries will no longer affect you in the same way.  Because you have found a method to awaken divine bliss and that bliss transcends everything.  That bliss takes you beyond yourself into something that cannot be described in words.</p>
<p>It frees you from yourself, it frees you from your worries.  Not that you will no longer have worries and problems once you have a spiritual awakening, all of those remain.  Yet in being in that bliss, you experience yourself beyond them.  You experience a much bigger reality, a limitless reality that is completely free from conflict.</p>
<p>And simply by being in that bliss, everything gets done, everything gets taken care of. It nurtures you and loves you like no person ever can.</p>
<p>But don&#8217;t give it halfway. Don&#8217;t give your attention a back door to slip away back into doubts and intellectual debate.  You have to be willing to let go of every thought that arises in meditation.</p>
<p>So don’t go halfway, don’t allow yourself to get lost in thinking and analysis.  Rather, give yourself fully to your spiritual practice until there is nothing left to give; until even the spiritual practice goes.  Even the bliss may go.</p>
<p>And then there is only what is; the simplicity of the moment. And that is even more delightful than the bliss.  And that is spiritual awakening.</p>

<p><em>What are your thoughts about the 2012 predictions?</em></p>
<p><strong>Answer From Kip:</strong><a href="http://bliss-music.com/meditation-blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/island.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-43" title="island" src="http://bliss-music.com/meditation-blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/island-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>What can truthfully said about 2012 predictions?  Whether you believe in the 2012 predictions that we’re all going to get enlightened, the earth is going to swallow us up in earthquakes or you believe nothing will happen; all of this amounts to the same thing.  They are all beliefs.  Whether you believe in the 2012 predictions or you disbelieve it, it all amounts to beliefs, to ideas that you make real.</p>
<p>In truth, we have no idea what may or may not happen.  We have no idea what will happen in a minute from now, an hour from now.  We do not know what happens when we die, we do not actually know much of anything.  And if you can rest in this not knowing, in the acceptance of not knowing, then you get to the purity of what is here, the essence of what is here.</p>
<p>Where in if you are lost in predictions of what may or may not happen in 2012, you are lost in ideas, you are locked in your mind.  You have separated yourself from this moment by believing you know something.</p>
<p>The  2012 predictions are just another way you avoid this moment, you avoid experiencing life.  Because you live in the mind, you can only at best experience the mind’s interpretation of this moment.  And for the most part you are not even experiencing that.  Because your mind is not on this moment, it is on the 2012 predictions, it is on what you will do tonight, what happened to you an hour ago.</p>
<p>So you see by letting your attention be lost in thinking, you do not experience life.  Even in saying this the mind is interpreting it, it already knows it, understands it and has a judgment on that understanding.  The mind is just adding to its collection of noise.</p>
<p>So what happens if you allow the noise to be as it is but let your attention rest underneath the noise.  We don’t want to stop thinking, control thinking, we want to get to the essence of thought.  To experience what thought really is.  To allow it to be completely and watch it, watch the movement of it rather than the content of it, to feel the sensation of it rather than be lost in the interpretation of it.</p>
<p>Because in letting our attention fall into this moment, all of the content dissolves back into what is really here.  You begin to experience the flow of energy that is thought. And the nature of this flow is bliss, is peace.</p>
<p>Then the idea of 2012 predictions not only seems silly, it seems like a waste of time.  You see it only hurts you to be lost in more so called “spiritual” ideas.  Like when you were young and thought it was so much fun to get drunk.  You went to great lengths to get drunk.  Then when you grow up, you realize what a waste of time it is to get drunk, how much it actually hurts your body, how much it hurts you and those around you.</p>
<p>Getting lost in more beliefs is the same.  It just adds to the stress, it takes you further away from feeling alive, from experiencing the truth, that is you.</p>
<p>That is the essence of what is already here.  It is in the thinking, it is in the breathing, it is in the existing right here and now.  You do not need to get anything or change anything, you simply have to let go of being distracted by your thinking and simply notice what is happening in this moment.</p>

noticing<br />
that everything is.</p>
<p>It is not the &#8216;everything&#8217;<br />
that is important,<br />
it is the is-ness itself<br />

<p>The mind is always<br />
caught up in the content.</p>
<p>But awareness<br />
only experiences the essence.</p>
<p>Whether there is anger<br />
or a thought<br />
of a chocolate brownie<br />
or a heavy rain outside.</p>
<p>All of these things<br />
are of the same energy.</p>
<p>They exist out of<br />
life itself,<br />
the one energy<br />
that is animating everything.</p>
<p>And even in saying this<br />
the mind is agreeing<br />
or disagreeing.</p>
<p>The mind is relating<br />
to the words as content.</p>
<p>It is trying to comprehend<br />
something that<br />
cannot really be put in words<br />
in the first place.</p>
<p>All the words can really do<br />
is point<br />
and it is up to<br />
you whether you give<br />
your attention<br />
to where the words are<br />
pointing</p>
<p>or you get caught up<br />
in the content<br />
of the words.</p>
<p>And if you give<br />
your attention<br />
to where the words are pointing,<br />
then you move beyond words;<br />
you move beyond content<br />
and rest in that<br />
which cannot really be described.</p>
<p>So there is this shift that<br />
needs to happen,<br />
to move beyond trying<br />
to experience things with the<br />
intellect or emotion<br />
to experiencing what is here<br />
beyond intellect and emotion.</p>
<p>To realizing<br />
the is-ness<br />
of everything.</p>
<p>It is not that thinking<br />
has to stop,<br />
it is that you stop<br />
being transfixed<br />
by the content<br />
of the thinking<br />
and realize<br />
that which is always<br />
animating the content,</p>
<p>that which is<br />
making the content<br />
possible in the first place.</p>
<p>The conscious<br />
ever flowing energy<br />
that is bliss itself.</p>

to sell you the idea<br />
that you can be happy<br />
all the time<br />
is lying to you.</p>
<p>The very trying to be happy<br />
increases your stress.</p>
<p>Is happiness really better<br />
than another emotion?</p>
<p>Is it better than anger?<br />
Is it better than no emotion<br />
at all?</p>
<p>These are the lies<br />
that have been told to you,<br />
that the mind keeps<br />
telling you are real.</p>
<p>Lets say you get a raise,<br />
or a pretty woman/man<br />
smiles at you;<br />
that makes you happy.</p>
<p>Endorphins are released<br />
and for a short period of time<br />
you feel on top of the world<br />
there is excitement.</p>
<p>And then after that wears off,<br />
like an addict,<br />
you are looking for the next<br />
excitement, the next happiness.</p>
<p>And that is suffering.</p>
<p>Now, say a bird poops on your head.<br />
Does that make you happy?</p>
<p>Do you try to be happy<br />
when a bird poops on your head?</p>
<p>Do you try to convince yourself<br />
it is good luck or some other nonsense<br />
to try and suppress<br />
what you are really feeling?</p>
<p>Unless you like that sort of thing,<br />
it doesn&#8217;t make you happy.</p>
<p>There might be anger,<br />
there might be embarrassment.</p>
<p>Whatever is there<br />
if you feel it,<br />
if you give your complete<br />
attention to that feeling,<br />
to that experience,</p>
<p>then you fall into what is there<br />
underneath it,<br />
you rest in what the whole<br />
experience has emerged<br />
out of and held in<br />
and that is bliss.</p>
<p>You experience bliss.</p>
<p>You experience the same<br />
bliss in happiness, sadness<br />
anger, loneliness, laughter.</p>
<p>It is the underlying current<br />
that lights up all emotion.</p>
<p>And it is not that there is a &#8216;you&#8217;<br />
that can be blissful all the time.<br />
You give up this you<br />
that tries to make something<br />
to be a certain way.</p>
<p>You fall through the idea<br />
of this separate you<br />
into that which is underneath it.</p>
<p>And this happens<br />
by letting your attention<br />
fall into this moment.</p>
<p>By having either the discipline<br />
or the love<br />
to keep your attention here<br />
instead of looking for the next<br />
pay off, the next pleasure that can<br />
get you through another minute<br />
of excruciating existence.</p>
<p>And make no mistake about it,<br />
that is how the mind<br />
sees this moment.</p>
<p>It is desperate<br />
to avoid this moment.</p>
<p>But the moment you allow yourself<br />
to experience this excruciating existence,<br />
there is freedom,<br />
you experience the essence of life<br />
which is bliss.</p>
<p>And if you make<br />
this underlying current<br />
your focus<br />
then you will experience the peace<br />
that is the essence of all experience.</p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t take you out of experience<br />
but rather right through it<br />
into the unfathomable depth<br />
of this moment.</p>

your experience in this moment<br />
you transcend it.<br />

You transcend the duality<br />
of good and bad,<br />
right and wrong<br />
and enter into<br />
the essence of this moment<br />
that has no opposite.<br />
 <br />
You enter into peace<br />
that has no opposite,<br />
silence that has no opposite,<br />
love that has no opposite.<br />
 <br />
Both war and peace<br />
are contained in this peace.<br />
Both noise and silence<br />
are contained in this silence.<br />
 <br />
The essence of everything<br />
you love and hate about yourself<br />
is made out of the same bliss.<br />
 <br />
Like those beautiful ice<br />
sculptures.<br />
 <br />
It does not matter if the sculptor<br />
makes a demon or an angel,<br />
it is still made of the same water.<br />
 <br />
It is all made out of the same peace.<br />
 <br />
And so when you fall into<br />
this essence,<br />
everything that rests in this nondual space<br />
gets healed, gets nurtured,<br />
gets returned not to its opposite<br />
but to its essence.<br />
 <br />
You realize the essence<br />
of everything is peace.</p>
<p>All of this comes<br />
from simple observation.<br />
 <br />
By observing what is here<br />
without any involvement<br />
without any control.</p>
<p>Attention is everything.<br />
Awareness is everything.</p>
<p>It is the doorway to<br />
unconditional bliss and freedom.<br />

<p>One reason why people never realize enlightenment is that<br />
most people are not living spirituality<br />
they are living spiritual pretense.</p>
<p>Human beings by nature do not like themselves.  It is not their fault, it is their conditioning. </p>
<p>Somewhere along the line, everyone of us is painted an image by our family, media and society of the perfect person we are supposed to be. And we realize we are not anything like that perfect person. </p>
<p>And thus starts the journey of self hatred where we try and mould ourselves into this perfect person.</p>
<p>So when we enter a spiritual path, we take on the teaching as &#8220;this is how I should be&#8221; and according to whatever path or organization we join, we become that, we paint a mask on ourselves according to how we believe we should be.</p>
<p>We see how others act and we act the same to fit in and feel accepted.</p>
<p>The teacher says &#8220;Gratitude helps deepen your awareness&#8221; and sure enough all of the students of that teacher run around saying how grateful they are.</p>
<p>If you are watching this happen as an outsider,  it is creepy.  It looks as though they are being brainwashed.  But there is no brainwashing happenning on the outside, only on the inside do people try and become who they think they are supposed to be.</p>
<p>They get an image in their mind of how a spiritual person should act and they act it out.  They get an image of how they should feel so they convince themselves they feel it.</p>
<p>One person sees golden balls and then everyone related to that person starts seeing golden balls.</p>
<p>One person laughs and everyone else starts laughing.</p>
<p>Whatever the teacher and culture around that teacher, everyone pretends to be that.  Like a constant halloween, people put on their spiritual clothes and mask and dance around trying to convince themselves and everyone else this is who they are. </p>
<p>Because for all of us, if we are ever lucky enough to be still enough to truly see ourselves in this moment, we have a breakdown. Because suddenly we are looking at all of the things we have been avoiding all of our lives. </p>
<p>And so most simply try and act out who they think they should be in order to feel accepted, in order to feel loved.</p>
<p>And this is the suffering.</p>
<p>So the key is to be still enough to see yourself in this moment and accept yourself as you are in this moment. </p>
<p>But you can only accept yourself as you are if you are honest about how you are. </p>
<p>Be honest:</p>
<p>What is here in this moment?  What is your experience in this moment?  It is not to define it, it is to simply notice it, to experience it.  To be completely here with what is.</p>
<p>It is in this, in seeing all of the insanity that is here and accepting yourself as you are, that you see all of it exists on it&#8217;s own.</p>
<p>All of these thoughts and emotions and physicallity are all happening on their own yet you remain detached and aware.  You remain free of all of it as unconditional peace.</p>
<p>Then true love begins to grow in your heart.  You no longer care to put on an act.  You no longer care to try and be accepted by others.  Because there is already self acceptance.  And in that self acceptance, there is self transcendence. </p>
<p>You have come to terms with what is here and found freedom from it.</p>
<p>So honesty is the key to realizing enlightenment.  You do not realize enlightenment through pretending.  You realize enlightenment through being with what is in this moment.  At first that may be thoughts and emotions.  But once acceptance is there, you see beyond this, you see what you are unconditionally, and that cannot be defined, only experienced.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Once you are established in being a witness to your thoughts, the thoughts change.<span>  </span>Your thoughts started off as personal thoughts, what you have to do, what you want to do, what you are worried about, what happened in your past etc.<span>  </span>You also think linear.<span>  </span>One thought leads to another and to another.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But as you enter witness consciousness, the thoughts become random, they are no longer personal.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">They arise and disappear independently of each other.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">You can see pictures or have dreams/visions of things you have never seen before, that cannot even be explained in words.<span>  </span>You can experience yourself as a completely different person in a completely different place, yet still you remain a witness to it, there is not identification with it.<span>  </span>Almost as though you can hover above the vision without every becoming it.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">When you dream at night, you become a part of the dream, you are in it, but in this state of Samadhi, you are simply watching it like watching a movie.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></p>
<p></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">The greatest part of Salvikalpa Samadhi is that your attachment to your identity and thoughts are broken for the period of time you remain in Samadhi. </span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">It is as thought the huge weight of who you believe yourself to be is taken away.<span>  </span>You have no name, no physical boundaries, no weight, no problems.<span>  </span>All worries, desires, judgments and attachments are gone.<span>  </span>This brings incredible peace and bliss.<span>  </span>Like being in a deep state of blissful sleep yet fully conscious.<span>  </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">If you can remain a witness to these visions/dreams, you disappear deeper and deeper into consciousness itself.<span>  </span>Thoughts can appear slower, less often and there can be long gaps of utter silence.<span>  </span>Consciousness like the sun, burning brighter and brighter.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">In this state, the bliss that floods every cell of your being is incredible.<span>  </span>It is as though every cell of your energetic body (the physical is no longer dominant) is singing, humming, vibrating in bliss.<span>  </span>You experience incredible healing as all of the energy gushes through your energetic form.<span>  </span>It is the doorway to Nirvikalpa Samadhi.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Salvikalpa Samdhi is not just about witnessing the thoughts but that is how it begins.<span>  </span>As said above, Salvikalpa Samadhi is defined when your individual attachment and identification is broken.<span>  </span>So that there is no individual “you.”<span>  </span>There is no ego.<span>  </span>There is just consciousness experiencing whatever arises out of itself.<span>  </span>Completely unaffected by whatever arises and disappears.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><strong><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">How you attain Savikalpa Samdhi is simple:<span>  </span></span></strong><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Become a witness to your thoughts.<span>  </span>Be so vigilant in your focus that when every thought arises, be a complete witness to that thought, do not touch it, do not get involved with it, keep your focus on being the witness.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">This is not a mental experience and cannot be done with the mind.<span>  </span></span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span></span>These words can only point.<span>  </span>You have to practice it.<span>  </span>It is an advanced state of meditation.<span>  </span>It is effort while remaining effortless.<span>  </span></span></span></p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span></span>Awareness is your very nature.<span>  </span><span> </span>It is not an action that you do, awareness simply is.<span>  </span>But because you are so addicted to identifying with thoughts, there must be the intense focus to not get involved with the thoughts.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">In beginning meditation, there are so many thoughts and you are so used to being identified with the thoughts that you will not even understand what being a witness is.<span>  </span>So at first, a technique is needed, like watching your breath or asking “who am I?”<span>  </span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><br />
The other part of meditation is to allow whatever sensation is here to be as it is.<span>  </span>This is how you begin in meditation, by accepting whatever is here, by allowing yourself to experience whatever is here in the moment.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">If you really look in this moment, you will see you are constantly resisting being present.<span>  </span>Being present for more than a few seconds is intense, can often feel painful at times.<span>  </span>So a large part of meditation is experiencing yourself as you are in this moment, allowing yourself to feel whatever is here in the moment as sensation, without getting involved with it, without defining it, judging it or analysing it.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Once you can accept and allow yourself to experience whatever is there, then you can move into witness consciousness.<span>  </span>If you try to be a witness before being able to accept your experience in the moment, it probably will be forced and only reinforce the ego.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">So if you are new to meditation, begin with a technique and practice allowing yourself to experience what is here.<span>  </span>This will be very peaceful in itself.<span>  </span>You will begin to experience yourself as being, as presence itself.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">   It is not &#8220;I am a person&#8221; but simply &#8220;I am&#8221;</span></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">It is perfect to be agnostic and attain unconditional peace, happiness and enlightenment.<span>  </span>In fact, in many ways, it makes attaining enlightenment much easier.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">For would you rather believe in enlightenment or would you rather be enlightened?<span>  </span>Would you rather believe in unconditional peace or would you rather live in a state of unconditional peace?</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">For if you want to live enlightenment and unconditional peace, you have to truly become agnostic.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">It has always been said that happiness and peace is your very nature.<span>  </span>So to attain enlightenment, you have to experience yourself as you truly are beyond all beliefs, concepts, opinions and dogmas.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">It is not about becoming something, but rather to truly experience yourself as you are in this moment.<span>  </span>To be honest about what is here in this moment.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Here’s an example:<span>  </span>Say you are sitting on a park bench, a stranger walks by, steps on your foot, doesn’t say anything and keeps on walking.<span>  </span>That is the truth of it in that moment.<span>  </span>Someone stepped on your foot and kept on walking.<span>  </span>Now it has passed.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But there are a thousand thoughts that come rushing forth: “How rude of that man to step on my foot and not apologize,”<span>  </span>then “He must hate me” then “Why is everyone so mean to me?” then “He is everything that is wrong with this world.” Then “It would be justified for me to run after him and step on his foot.” Then “He probably would try and hit me but then I would deck him and it would feel really good…” </span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">On and on it goes.<span>  </span>Most of the thoughts you are not even aware of but still they deeply effect you because you are identified with your thoughts.<span>  </span>But all of the thoughts are untrue, all of it is nonsense.<span>  </span>The truth of it is that a man stepped on your foot.<span>  </span>Then it passed.<span>  </span>Everything else is untrue.<span>  </span>Whatever you say about why the man stepped on your foot is pure speculation, whatever scenarios you imagine about what might happen next are all fantasy.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">And the man stepped on your foot once.<span>  </span>But you replay the scene in your mind hundreds of times.<span>  </span>So one step on your foot turns into someone stepping on your foot hundreds of times.<span>  </span>But it has passed; no one is stepping on your foot now!<span>  </span>Quite funny if you think about it.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">So you see in this, all thought about the incident has no truth.<span>  </span>The only true part was a man stepped on your foot. The truth now is you are simply sitting on the park bench.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">A woman once asked a great enlightened teacher named Sri Anandagiri “I want to feel love.<span>  </span>I want my heart to open.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Anandagiri asked “Which is true:<span>  </span>That you want to feel love, or that you do not feel love now?”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">She replied “That I want to feel love.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">“No” He said, “You know the truth.<span>  </span>The truth is that right now you do not feel love.<span>  </span>What you would like to feel is not the truth.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Because the idea that she would like to feel love was simply a thought.<span>  </span>A thought that she made important, but it had nothing to do with her experience in the moment, it was only a resistance to what she was experiencing in the moment.<span>  </span>And that is stressful.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Because peace, happiness and enlightenment is not about becoming something.<span>  </span>It is about experiencing yourself as you are in this moment.<span>  </span>The idea from the ego is that you should be different than you are.<span>  </span>But you are as you are.<span>  </span>That is the truth.<span>  </span>The truth simply is.<span>  </span>And in being aware of what is, there is peace, there is happiness.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">So I ask you to look in this moment, purely agnostic.<span>  </span>What is your experience in this moment?<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">And you might say “I want to feel peaceful.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But that is not what you experience in this moment, that is only a thought that you identify with.<span>  </span>It has nothing to do with what you are experiencing right now.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">You say, “I feel unhappy.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Better, more honest.<span>  </span>But still, that is just a label, a judgment on what you are actually experiencing.<span>  </span>What does unhappy feel like?</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">“There is a tightness in my chest.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Good.<span>  </span>Can you allow yourself to experience that tight sensation in your chest?<span>  </span>Because if you can allow yourself to experience that tightness, as sensation, then there is peace.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">“The tightness is there because I got in an argument with my wife this morning.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But that is just an idea.<span>  </span>Can you prove that?<span>  </span>There is a tightness sensation in your chest, that is what you know in this moment.<span>  </span>Why it is there is just speculation.<span>  </span>The reason for it being there is just a thought.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">The truth is this moment, not what you remember.<span>  </span>You keep carrying your past with you.<span>  </span>But your past is past.<span>  </span>This moment is fresh and new.<span>  </span>Life is happening here and now.<span>  </span>Your responsibility is simply to notice what is here and now.<span>  </span>To be honest about what is here and now.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">“But I don’t want to feel this tightness in my chest.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But who doesn’t want to feel it?<span>  </span>Is that not just a thought that you identify with?</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">“But I thought that thought.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But who is the ‘I’ that thought it?<span>  </span>You assume that you are that thought.<span>  </span>But if you look, the thought came by itself.<span>  </span>If you look, the thought arises and there is the action of identification, you grab hold of that thought and make it you.<span>  </span>But you are not a thought.<span>  </span>The thought will come and go and you will remain.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">“There is resistance to feeling the tightness in my chest.”</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">Yes, very good.<span>  </span>Be aware of the sensation of resistance.<span>  </span>That is all you have to do.<span>  </span>There is a sensation in your chest, there is a sensation of resisting that sensation.<span>  </span>Can you allow all this to be?<span>  </span>If you do this, the resistance will fall away.<span>  </span>Then all will be left is that sensation in your chest.<span>  </span>That will eventually change too.<span>  </span>But you remain as awareness.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">If you investigate this moment like this, seeing what is true and what is untrue, you will see that all thinking is just that, thought.<span>  </span>It has no truth in what is actually happening.<span>  </span>You will see thoughts come and go, sensations come and go and change, but you remain aware of everything.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">The one thing you cannot deny is this awareness.<span>  </span>In fact, you cannot separate you, this moment and awareness.<span>  </span>If you are here, you are aware.<span>  </span>And you are always here.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">You seem to get caught up in thoughts.<span>  </span>If you get caught up in thinking about where you grew up, it seems you are there where you grew up.<span>  </span>But the moment you realize you are caught up in your thinking, you will see, you are here and you always were here.<span>  </span>It was just an idea, an illusion that you were somewhere else.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">So you know awareness is the truth.<span>  </span>You cannot deny awareness. <span> </span>Whatever arises or disappears there is still always awareness here. <span> </span>So if you rest in awareness, in being aware of whatever arises, you remain true to this moment.<span>  </span>And you will find that the very nature of awareness is peace, love and happiness.<span>  </span>And that the realization that you are awareness and that all arises out of awareness is enlightenment itself.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">So in questioning everything, you come to the conclusion that you truly know nothing.<span>  </span>That any commentary about the moment is just thought arising. <span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">But you remain as awareness.<span>  </span>There is always awareness.<span>  </span>And the nature of awareness is unconditional peace.<span>  </span>Peace that is here for no reason.<span>  </span>Happiness that is here for no reason.<span>  </span>Simply because you are.</span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
<p></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU">So to be truly agnostic is a perfect guide to finding unconditional peace, happiness and enlightenment.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial" lang="EN-AU"> </p>
